This Egyptian amulet crafted Eye of Horus symbol formed from high quality Nickel-compliant pewter. Horus was the falcon-headed solar and sky god from ancient Egypt and was the son of Osiris and Isis. According to legend, the left eye was torn from Horus by his murderous brother Seth, and magically restored by Thoth, the God of magic. Some stories state Horus made a gift of the eye to Osiris, which allowed this solar deity to rule the underworld. This is the right eye - the one that survived - and as the udjat (or utchat), it represented the sun. Spiritually, the right eye reflects solar, masculine energy, as well as reason and mathematics. The Eye of Horus was believed to have healing, strength and protective power, and it was used as a protective amulet.
It comes ready to wear on an adjustable cord (approx 14"to 30" long). It is 37mm high (including loop) and 22mm wide - so about 1.5"; high.
